The dish position determines how the connection performs for the next decade. We assess the whole property before choosing a location, rather than defaulting to the nearest convenient wall.

Starlink dishes track satellites across a wide field of view, so a position that looks clear from the ground can still clip a treeline higher in the arc. We check the intended location against the surrounding canopy, roofline and terrain, and consider how the view will change as deciduous trees fill out in summer.
Where a single position cannot give a clear view, we look at raising the dish on a short pole, moving to a different elevation on the building, or siting it away from the house with a longer cable run.
Mounts are chosen for the substrate. Cotswold stone, Welsh slate, hung tile, render and timber all behave differently, and the wrong fixing will either fail or damage the fabric of the building. Where a property is listed or in a conservation area we favour discreet positions and low-visibility mounts.
