The dish position determines how the connection performs for the next decade. We assess the whole property before choosing a location, rather than defaulting to the nearest convenient wall.
Roof mounting is often the only way to clear surrounding trees and outbuildings. It is also the installation that most rewards doing properly, because mistakes at ridge height are expensive to correct.
Wall and gable mounting is often the neatest solution: shorter cable runs, easier future maintenance and no work on the roof covering itself.
