Starlink Installation in the Cotswolds

The Cotswolds combine two things that make broadband difficult: dispersed stone-built villages a long way from the exchange, and a landscape of steep scarp slopes and wooded valleys. Starlink sidesteps the line entirely, provided the dish is positioned where it can actually see the sky.

Installing Starlink in Cotswolds

From the Cotswold escarpment above Cheltenham and Stroud down to the flatter wold country around Cirencester and the Windrush valley, elevation changes across a few hundred metres. Properties tucked into combes and valley bottoms often have a restricted horizon on one side, while ridge-top farms have an almost unlimited view. That difference drives whether a wall mount will do or whether the dish needs raising on a pole.

Properties we work on

  • Cotswold stone cottages with steep, heavy stone-slate roofs
  • Converted barns and stables with thick rubble walls
  • Farmhouses and working farms on the wolds
  • Country estates and manor houses, often listed
  • Holiday cottages and short lets in the honey-stone villages
  • Rural offices, farm shops and visitor businesses

Local installation considerations

  • Conservation area and listed building sensitivities across most villages
  • Stone-slate and Cotswold stone roofs that must not be walked or over-drilled
  • Soft lime-mortared stonework requiring careful fixing selection
  • Mature beech and oak on valley sides that grow into the field of view
  • Long, thick-walled cottages where a single router will never cover the plan

Coverage

We cover the Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire, Wiltshire and Worcestershire parts of the Cotswolds, including the escarpment villages, the Windrush and Coln valleys and the towns listed below.

Starlink Installation Cotswolds FAQs

Can you install on a listed Cotswold stone property?
We install on many period stone properties and favour discreet positions such as rear gables and outbuildings. Any listed building or conservation area consent remains the property owner's responsibility, and we are happy to discuss positions that minimise visual impact.
My cottage sits in a valley. Will Starlink work?
Frequently yes, but the position matters more than usual. Valley-side properties often need the dish higher on the building or on a pole clear of the slope and treeline. A survey or a set of photographs tells us quickly.
Do you cover farms and estates as well as houses?
Yes. Multi-building holdings across the wolds are a large part of our work, including distributing one connection across farmhouse, office and agricultural buildings.
