Starlink Installation in Wales

Wales has some of the most difficult broadband geography in the UK. Valleys, mountains and long single-track approaches mean many properties sit far beyond a usable fixed line, and satellite is the practical answer.

Welsh stone farmhouse with slate roof in a green valley

Installing Starlink in Wales

The terrain changes the job completely from one region to another. In the South Wales valleys, steep sides block a large part of the sky from valley-floor properties. In Mid Wales and Powys, isolated farms have open horizons but very long cable runs between buildings. In Gwynedd, Conwy and Snowdonia, mountain shadow and exposure dominate. On the Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion coasts, wind loading and salt air govern the mount specification.

Properties we work on

  • Stone farmhouses with slate roofs
  • Hill farms and upland smallholdings
  • Converted chapels, barns and outbuildings
  • Holiday cottages and glamping sites
  • Coastal properties in Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion
  • Rural businesses, workshops and visitor attractions

Local installation considerations

  • Valley-side and mountain shadow restricting the sky view
  • Welsh slate roofs that need careful, minimal intervention
  • High exposure and wind loading on upland and coastal sites
  • Long distances between farmhouse, yard and outbuildings
  • Poor mobile signal, so genuinely reliable fixed WiFi matters more

Coverage

We cover South, Mid, West and North Wales, including the cities, the valleys, the Brecon Beacons, the west coast and the counties listed below.

Starlink Installation Wales FAQs

Will Starlink work in a steep-sided valley?
It depends how much sky the property can see. Many valley properties work well once the dish is positioned high on the building or on a pole up the slope; some need the dish sited away from the house entirely. We check before committing.
Can you install on a slate roof?
Yes, with methods appropriate to slate. Where the slate is old or brittle we usually prefer a gable, wall or pole position instead.
Do you cover remote hill farms?
Yes. Upland farms are a significant part of our Welsh work, including distributing the connection across dispersed buildings.
