Starlink Troubleshooting & Fault Finding

Intermittent drop-outs, slow speeds in one room, or a connection that works in winter and struggles in summer usually point to an installation issue rather than a hardware fault.

Installer diagnosing a satellite internet installation fault

What we look at first

We start with obstruction history and the physical installation: mount stability, cable condition at the entry point and along the run, connector condition, and whether the dish has shifted. Then we look at the network side, which is where most in-house complaints originate.

  • Obstruction analysis and dish repositioning
  • Cable, connector and entry-point inspection
  • Mount stability and weather damage
  • Router placement, channel and coverage problems

Honest diagnosis

If the problem is the service rather than the installation, we will tell you. We cannot guarantee speeds or availability, and we will not sell you additional hardware that will not fix the underlying issue.

Troubleshooting FAQs

Why does my Starlink drop out at the same time each day?
That pattern usually indicates an obstruction clipping a specific part of the satellite arc. Repositioning the dish generally resolves it.
My speeds are fine at the router but poor upstairs. Why?
That is a WiFi coverage problem, not a Starlink problem. Access points, mesh nodes or a better router position will fix it.
