Godalming sits in the Wey valley with steep wooded ground rising on both sides towards Hascombe, Hambledon and Busbridge. It is a classic Surrey pattern: attractive, wooded, and awkward for both fixed-line and satellite unless the dish position is thought through.

The valley is narrow in places with greensand hills either side, heavily wooded with oak, beech and pine. Properties on the valley floor often have the shortest horizons in the area, while those on the slopes above Busbridge and Hascombe do much better.
Timber-framed and tile-hung period houses in the town, Arts and Crafts homes in Busbridge and Farncombe, and larger houses, barn conversions and smallholdings in the surrounding hills.
The hamlets south of the town towards Hascombe and Dunsfold are small, dispersed and consistently underserved by fixed-line broadband despite their proximity to the A3.
Roof and high gable mounts predominate in the valley. On the slopes, wall mounts often suffice, provided the dish is placed on the side facing the open aspect rather than into the hill.
Home offices and small consultancies form the bulk of demand, alongside equestrian and rural businesses in the villages towards Dunsfold.
