Starlink Roof Installation

Roof mounting is often the only way to clear surrounding trees and outbuildings. It is also the installation that most rewards doing properly, because mistakes at ridge height are expensive to correct.

Installer working safely at height on a UK roof

Why customers choose a roof mount

On a typical rural plot the house is the highest point, and the ridge or upper roof slope is the only place with a genuinely clear view. Roof mounting also keeps the dish out of reach and out of sight from ground level, which matters on properties where appearance is a consideration.

How we work at height

Access is planned before the visit. We use appropriate ladder and access equipment, work to the roof type in front of us, and avoid walking slate or old clay tile where it would cause damage. If the roof cannot be worked safely on the day, we say so and propose an alternative such as a gable, wall or pole mount rather than improvising.

  • Ridge, slope and non-penetrating mounting options
  • Fixings suited to slate, plain tile, pantile and profiled sheet
  • Sealed penetrations with correct flashing or grommets
  • Cable clipped along tidy, protected lines into the loft or eaves

Roof Installation FAQs

Can Starlink be installed on a roof?
Yes. Roof mounting is common in the UK and is often the best way to achieve a clear sky view, provided the roof structure and covering can take the mount.
Can you install Starlink on a chimney?
Sometimes. A sound chimney can take a strap or lashing kit, but many rural chimneys are old, soft-jointed or leaning. We assess the stack condition first and will recommend a different position if it is not suitable.
Will drilling the roof cause leaks?
Not when it is done correctly. Penetrations are made in the right place, sealed properly and dressed so water runs away from the entry point.
